freaks; they came into the music needing a figure to make
them feel as though someone understood them, and becuase
of his larger-than-life stage persona, you had a recreation
of a caring, yet distant parental figure 2) Numan's music
has electronics in it (Duh!) and the sound of these electronics
make one feel submissive, almost amchine-like 3) He's actually
talented 4) Many fans are Bowie fans who started liking
Numan thinking he was the nest Bowie 100) you people make

An Agent, the eerieness of Slowcar to China). Wow.

stylistic shifts signal a lack of confidence that a producer,

just, with his first several discs, hit upon a sound that
was wonderfully dramatic, wonderfully alienated and strange,
and rockingly moving. Then he became just another dance
musician, but during that early period, as Reznor, et al,
have said, he was a pioneer and he swept us away. He spoke
of a strange, chilling future, and simultaneously tapped
into our feelings for Proustian rock and alienation.
